Meet Jeremiah the Bullfrog, Altum’s playful mascot and a symbol of one of the company’s core values: fun. Matt Alford shares the story behind Jeremiah and how joy, personality and meaningful connection are part of Altum’s culture and client experience.
Our Chief Development Officer, Matt Alford, shares the inspiration behind Jeremiah the Bullfrog:
“During my school years, there was another student who truly embodied the essence of joy. She had a genuine love for Jesus, people, and the song ‘Joy to the World’ by 3 Dog Night. Despite facing challenges with memory, she exuded an infectious spirit. She had difficulty remembering names, so she affectionately called everyone ‘bullfrog,’ a playful reference to her favorite song. Whenever she bumped into someone in the school halls, she would enthusiastically grab their hand and say, ‘Hey bullfrog, let’s boogie!’ then proceed to dance and sing along to the tune. If you don’t know it, the first line of the song goes ‘Jeremiah was a bullfrog’. Her joyful presence left a lasting impression on me, and now our very own Altum Jeremiah serves as a visual reminder to seek joy in the smallest of things and celebrate the beauty of life’s moments, no matter where we find ourselves.”
